Wk.2 Utilizing Google to it’s full potential

1. How would you search for an exact word or phrase? 

The best way to go about this action is to put quotations around the desired word/phrase one is looking up.

2. How would you search for something on a specific site?

To search for something on a specific site, one would just separate what they are looking for and then the website with a colon.

3. How would you correctly search for a definition?

To define a term on Google, one would just simply enter the word “Define:” with a colon, followed by the word.

4. How would you search for a specific product available within a specific price range?

Too look up a price range of a specific product, one would enter the product followed by the price range separated by two periods. (..)

5. How would you search for a specific filetype?

To find a specific file type, simply enter the topic you are looking for followed by “filetype:doc” (or any file type)

6. How would you include or ignore words in your search?

To include words in your search, simply add quotation to the word. Ex. “The” Man.

To exclude a word in your search, simply add a (-) in front of the word. Ex. -The Man

7. How would you find related pages?

To find related pages, you could type “Related:” in front of your desired URL.

8. How would you find pages containing one of several words you are interested in, though not all of them?

By adding a capitol “OR” in your search.

9. How would you find the time in another country?

Simply enter the country followed by the word “time”.

10. How would you find out how many Egyptian pounds you get for $20 Canadian dollars?

Simply enter the currency titles to reveal the exchange.
